Strange SAT Nav Behaviour

Last week I had the BMW dealer install an AUX port in my Z4 for the iPod. It was done, it was not expensive and it works...

The other day I went on a trip and found the GPS voice instructions do not work regardless of what I do with the settings or the GPS menu. Not a word but the guidance seems fine.

Then I went to change the perspective on the display, and while the menu option is there, the map does not change..

The software version displayed is 4-1 / 91

Does anyone know if the AUX installation might have changed something?

Yes, I have just installed my AUX port in my Z4M Coupe.

The socket that the aux port comes with is already being used in the rear harness by the Navi for the voice instructions, so you have to remove the 2 cables from the already installed connector in the harness and plug them into the aux port connector. Took about 30 seconds with a safety pin. IIRC there is room for 8 pins in the connectore, the AUX uses 4 and the navi uses 2. (pin 1 and 2 i think)

This is probably your problem.

Many thanks for the clue. I have passed it on to the BMW folks and they promise to investigate. Do you think this could also affect the perspective view?? cheers,

No it should not affect the perspective.

T turn that on is a 2 stage process.

1. Go to the system menu (hold down menu whilst in the set menu for 10 seconds) Then turn it on there. It is at the bottom of the list

2. Change it in the Navi screen, the easy bit.
