Strange Problem: Right rear suspension lower than the other

Hi all
Got a problem with my zed.. the right hand rear is an inch lower than the other and the whole back end is soft/unstable when going round corners. I initially thought it was a broken spring so got it booked in at a BMW dealer on Monday.

The mechanic reported that he could see one side lower and when he took it for a drive also noticed the handling problem but when he got it up on the lift he couldn't see anything wrong. Springs, bushes, roll bar were all ok and when he took it off the lift it had corrected itself and both sides were even. The only thing he thought could have caused this was the left hand spring not sitting properly causing it to rise up (I had my brake disks and pads replaced recently so could have happened then when the car was jacked up).

However yesterday the same thing happened. Got it booked in again at BMW but wondered if anyone has had a similar issue or think they know what the cause is??

Thanks
Jay

Sounded like a spring but obviously not, I've known strut/dampers to go slack, but not jam 'up' causing a lift in height, but it must be posible if damaged or corroded I suppose?

are you sure the problem side is sitting higher than it should be or is it the other that's dropped which can only really be caused by the items that were reported as OK?, sorry I don't know the standard ride height measurements maybe someone else can provide.
