Strange noise

Hi folks, wanting to get your opinion / advice on a noise coming from the car. I have had the car for about 4 months now and this noise only started about a week ago. It happens when am drivin off or reversing at about 1000 rpm I hear like a scraping / grinding noise coming from the front of the car. It's not coming from the engine per say as if you have the car out of gear and rev the engine to 1000rpm you don't hear the noise. Am not sure if it's something to do with the clutch. I am not sure if my clutch need replacing as it did seem to be slipping some times after a long drive. Also a couple of weeks ago my ecu light came on for a day or two and then eventually turned its self off.

Anyway any ideas?

If the car is moving when noise occurs maybe check the brake calipers / pads ?
If one is sticking it should feel warmer than the other after a your journey

I thought about the brake pads but i thought if it was them then it Wudnt specific when the engine revs. Also when the car is moving and you take it out of gear the noise disappears. If it wa the brakes I wud have thought the noise wud be there all the time regardless if the car is in gear or not? What you think? Either way I will check the brakes like you said.

If the noise disappears when you take it out of gear that would obviously point to clutch/gearbox ? get it into therapy before the problem goes worse
