Strange lead on negative terminal

Hi Chaps

I have found a 3 pin lead and plug in the battery bay of my 23i
I thought that maybe I had dislodged it so I have reconnected it to the negative terimal.

Seems to make no difference......yet

So the question is what exactly does it do?

Previous threads have mentioned an ability to disable parts of the alarm during transit but this lead is more substantial and plugs into the terminal itself

Unfortunately I still havent figured out how to post a photo after the photobucket fiasco

Many thanks

Pip

If it plugs onto the something like a black box built onto the negative lead terminal it will be the battery monitoring system, the car probably has Stop/Start and an AGM BATTERY. The car uses this to monitor the state af the battery so it doesn't switch the car off when you pull up if the battery won't start it again.
