The first thing I do when I get my renewal notice every year is to call up, ask them if they're willing to negotiate, and then tell them not to automatically renew once they've told me they're sticking to their inflated renewal premium.
The other issue would may have - assuming the broker/insurer hasn't auto-renewed - is that you might also have a fine under the CIE laws.
