Is anyone aware of a professional-type repair for those nusiance stone chips. I've tried a number of different remedies but none have been satisfactory. The last attempt incuded spray paint from the local auto paint shop applied with a very fine artist brush followed with clearcoat. Then sanding with 2000 grit wet/day sandpaper followed with polishing compound. The result is a completely filled and smooth finish. However, the color is a bit darker. The my Z4 is Titanium Sliver - Metallic. It seems with todays technology there has be a prdouct or technique that produces a near perfect repair.

Don't think so.
Front end respray, anything else will always look different, especially with metallic paint. A flat colour like white would look OK doing what you have done.
