Stock Z4 Realization

So I'm at work today taking a break from browsing these forums, as I get to the office window I see my car and think to my self..."Wow, stock Z4's look pretty damn sweet"

I've been saving money for a bunch of parts to ad to my z4 such as a spoiler, facelift bumper/lights, and rims. Even before I had bought the car I already had plans for what I wanted to upgrade, never really stopped to appreciate how the stock look looked. Even the wheels look nice considering they're 16". The thickness of the black on the tires compliments the black top.

I saw 2 Zeds on the road today (I rarely see Z4's anytime) - one Roady & one Coupé. Damn, they're hot cars. Always a nice break from the ordinary.

I must say that the Z4 is an eye catcher. I was in Toronto a couple of months ago and people were looking and taking photos of my car. There were a couple of Carrera's around and nobody seemed to be noticing them.... except me

At work we have off-street parking, but I work every Sunday and on those days I park on the street if it's nice out. My office building is close to Sears Tower, so my co-workers often came in with stories of tourists taking pictures of my Z4 roadster, though I was less than thrilled when someone said a guy was taking pictures of his girlfriend sitting on it. :censored:

For years, I've been eying the Porsche Boxster, but with 3 kids ages 11, almost 2 and almost 1, our vehicles were limited to 4 door sedans, SUVs and minivans. However, this past fall, a co-worker of mine bought a used 1999 M Roadster which sparked my interest in roadsters once again. After test driving a Porsche Boxster, a Honda S2000, and the Z4, I opted for the Z4. Having driven the 3, the Z4 impressed me the most with its style, handling and performance. The Boxster felt too much like a go-kart and had a much more rough ride. The S2000 just had a too familiar Japanese car feel and to be honest, while it looked good, the drive was similar to my 2007 Honda Fit Sport believe it or not. In any event, although I've always had a passion for the Boxster, I am happy with my Z4 and feel that I didn't settle for less.

grdz4roadster, I got my first roadster bug back in the early seventies, so I went and bought an Alfa Romeo Spyder. I lived off Diversey & Pine Grove and took LSD to and from work everyday. That was well before the city "corrected" the infamous "S" curve. That bug never left me.

I remember the old S curve! I'm heading into the city tonight. We live in Geneva but still have a loft in the River North area downtown. I wanted to drive the Z4 tonight, but since we got about 10 to 12 inches of snow over the last 2 days, it looks like we'll be driving one of the sedans. I wish I had the Goodyear Eagle F1 All Seasons!

Luv my home town, there is nothing like it. (Born and bred on the SoutSide, Marquette Park area).
Well then, I take it you're a White Sox fan, but I won't hold it against you. I was once a Sox fan in the 70s until they started charging us to watch the games ONTV (WSNS Channel 44). Although I'm a die hard Cubs fan, I had season tickets to the White Sox through the 2004 season. It's funny that when I opted out of the season tickets in 2005, the Sox went on and won the World Series...go figure!

Born a White Sox fan (2 buses Western to 35th St) but when as an adult I lived on the Near North (g-friend lived off Southport & Cornelia as well) I became a Cubs fan. I always watch either team on WGN here on cable.

You're absolutely right a stunning car right out of the box. There is very little that needs doing to them, most of it is the personalisation that makes it 'our' car and not the same as anyone else's. I see it a bit like the way Harley owners or Jeep owners tweek and modify out of love, not necessity.

Agree

I enjoy most the uncommon factor, like it seems very probable I have the only Z4 M Roadster in this country :D

There are also two M coupe's, but never seen the owners, they seem like shy people. I once sent my contact information to one of them (via a dealer that sold one) but no luck trying to get some cruising company.
