Stereo echo

When I listen to music in my car (CD or radio) I get an echo noise, as if one of the speakers is getting the signal slightly later than the others. It's only just developed over the last month or so.

Anybody else had the same problem or know what the problem could be?

Cheers

Simon

p.s. It's a 53 plate 3.0l SE with standard business CD unit if that helps?

Have you tried using the fade and balance to isolate exactly which speaker ? You should also be able to confirm if the speaker in question is getting the signal once (but late) or twice (once "on time" and once late).

Although, even knowing that, without it being the digital amp DSP model I can't really imagine what could cause it.

Lets look at all possible causes.... how old are you?.......

Thanks, I'll try the fade and balance.

Re the age thing, I'm only 28 so i hope it is the car and not my ears!!!

Sure you don't have DSP? If you do, some of those settings give an "echo". I've had it in "concert" mode listening to the radio (music sounds great) but when the DJ comes on, sounds like they're at the bottom of a barrel.
