Stereo clicks/pops

I started getting multiple clicks/pops, perhaps half a dozen, coming from the speakers whenever I have just started the Zed. Anyone experienced this problem and could enlighten me to the cause. It is an every time experience and been happening for a couple weeks.

Have a 2003 3.0 with the amp in the trunk, thought the stereo itself was replaced by BMW in 2005.

May want to check the ground wires on the amp and radio to ensure that they are tight, and no corrosion has set in on the connection.

i had this on mine which i soon found out to be the amp sitting in half an inch of water ( bad connection cause the popping sounds) still to do this day dont really know where the water came from but i had to buy a new amp as it was coroded beyond repair. No sign of a reacurance of the water i check every time the car gets wet! Seems to be one of lifes mysterys!
 
I'll check it out. I would have no idea how water would have gotten in, but I guess the connection is worth investigating.

The trunk got a little wet a couple years ago when I was driving in a heavy rain and did not realize the trunk was not fully closed. They should have built in a open trunk warning light.
 
I've heard it a few times, only when I first start the car. I try to ignore it because if it's the amp getting ready to go south it will take $1100 of my money with it.
 
I drive a Z4 since a few weeks and had the same clicks once a few minutes or more often after I connected my phone via bluetooth. I am sure the bluetooth connection is making these clicks. Turning off (depairing the phone / car) and the clicks disappear
