steering whine

Does anyones m have a loud whine which appears to emit from the steering pump.
Left hand side of the car emits this sound which fluctuates with rev increase and when stationary i can aslo fluctuate the sound by slightly moving the steering wheel.
Does all this sound normal, i know the steering is hydraulic but does sound rather loud on my car.
 
you get a bit of noise at full lock when parking etc, but not as you're describbing. That does sound a bit worrying espcially if you have the hydrilic on the M.
 
Its not got worse since ive owned it, it feels ok just can be annoying just wondered if it was normal.
I dont know anyone else with a z4m to compare, i am however going on the Islay tour so guess i maight bump into someone with a m to do a comparisant with.
