You loose the heater element if you do Daves mod from custom control Peter, can't speak for anywhere else but I'd imagine it's the same outcome.

Hello John, thanks, this seems contrary to Marcoose's suggestion though, I assume you've trodden that path?

Either way, if it gets that cold I'll put the old driving gloves on...

I've driven down to -6c with the roof down and can't say. provided you don't have your hands on the top of the wheel, that I ever felt that cold with the heaters going?

Hadn't seen Marcooses' post tbh, I emailed custom control a couple of yrs ago and was told I'd lose the heat element if I altered the wheels shape as per Daves wheel. I'm pretty sure it was Custom control but will stand corrected. :thumbsup:
 
I'm keeping leather all around with perforated handles. (And full flat bottom and sporty handles.) Radek said they'll keep the heating option. He said they do it as part of their regular reshape. (I can't remember if there's an extra cost for the heating option, and if it does, I'm sure he'll be fair. They have been extremely cool.) Perhaps carbon fibre interferes with the heating option. I'd reach out to them. They reply within hours.

Mine was £770 but I kept my old steering wheel
If you send your wheel in it’s cheaper by £ 250-300
From what I can remember.
John’s right I think in my case about the heating eliment.
I didn’t have heated S. Wheel but sure they said the baking process for the carbon fibre would frazzle it . If marcoose hasn’t had the carbon they can probably work a way around the heated wheel without killing it

Thanks, that pretty much confirms that I was best to stick with my existing Audi-esque Royal steering wheel version.. :thumbsup:

Can’t remember exactly but I think it was a shade under £200…not much for so much pleasure :rofl: :thumbsup: :driving:
