Steering Wheel Trim

The trim bits around the buttons on my steering wheel are looking worn. Going by the below picture it looks like i need parts 2 and 3.

2 it would seem is correct, but 3 is for the torx screw and not the plastic trim bit. Anyone got any ideas?

Hmm whenever i attempt to 'refurb' things I either end up breaking them or making them worse! Looking on google it would seem some sanding and painting will be needed :(

Might just live with it for now.
 
I did mine and its quite an easy job if you take your time and make sure you spray thin coats of primer/paint/lacquer

I used:

Acetone to remove the rubberised coating.
Lightly sanded back the surface 1800 grit wet and dry
Plastic primer
Satin finish black spray paint
Matt effect lacquer to finish

It’s pretty easy and if you do break them then you'll need to buy new ones but by the sounds of things you were going to do that anyway so there’s no risk really. It’s not as hard as you may think and it can be very satisfying knowing you fixed something yourself. Plasti dip is what most people use I think and it gives pretty good results.

Ok so looks like refurb could be the way to go then.

Will have a read of a few more DIY's and start ordering some bits.

The description underneath says set of spoke covers.
I would assume that means you get all 3 spoke covers.

You could well be right there actually. Will drop my local stealers a call to check.

Don't use plastic ip as it doesn't last on the spokes. Good for doing the front grill though.

I'm looking to order some soft touch lacquer which is meant to be hard wearing to give the OEM finish.
 
get them professionally sprayed or dipped...wont cost much and they will look perfect.
