Steering wheel silver

I’ve got a black M sport M/F wheel and a standard non M/F steering wheel. I read that I can transfer the M/F controls onto the standard wheel but I would want to spray them silver (the casings, not the buttons). Does any one have any info on the silver that is used on the original so I can try and get as close to oem as possible?
 
Interesting, you're in effect downgrading your steering wheel? Most people go the other way. The M Sport wheel is a popular mod.

Yeah, I went the other way about 3 years ago and I’m really just looking at options. The M Sport is quite think and I wanted to try something a bit thinner but retain the controls. They need repainted anyway and I thought I would try this combination for a while. Just need a pointer in a colour.
 
I settled for in the middle, with a refurb (not as fat as an M, but not skinny like standard). Have you seen the posts about mewant steering covers? Might be worth having a look :)
 
Oh, those look good. Might just be what I need to strike a balance in the thickness of the wheel. Just need to get a colour of the chrome bits and I can have a go. Might just buy some tins of silver enamel and see how they natch.
 
I used plastikote enamel spray which is ok but not really that durable to be honest. Lasted a year and needs to be done again to be perfect.

I saw that paint when I was browsing the enamels in Amazon. I would have thought that it would have been more durable since it was enamel. I had used Halfords black paint (matt) previoulsy but it is starting to shine at the contact points so I was leaning towards enamels this time. I have spotted a chrome radiator paint that might be more durable so may give that a go.

That looks pretty good mate. Is it wearing off now? I thought enamel would be really tough. Did you undercoat it? Lacquer top coat?
 
I would go with plastic primer. Then a thin film of silver followed by satin clear. Should be durable
