Steering wheel shaking and brake squeal

You will know if you have sticking calliper trust me i had that and its scary when brakes are not smooth. You would know as the pull is very severe on the steering wheel when braking its something you wouldnt want to keep driving with thats for sure..

i did say that it would pull severe mine literally happened over 3 days. I was almost undrivable on the way home by the 3rd day its best changing early before your disc goes blue. Then they will need changing too wqhich is more money. GSF do new callipers you get £20-30 back on your old calliper aswell.

Right, from now on I will not sit with my foot on the brake, especially after high speed braking to a stop. I'm also considering the hammer to crack a nut approach of replacing caliper, disc and pads on both sides at the same time but this sounds very expensive, and sadly I'm reliant on the garage to do this too. Anyone hazard a guess at what I could expect to pay in British pounds all in with parts and labour at local independent? Is this mega overkill? Cheers all.

looking at about £80 each on callipers and £100 for front disc new pads £30-50 and labour 3hrs max so £50-80 p/hr

have a look at meyle (german brand) brakes on ebay they have 2 yr anti corrosion warranty. I got front and rear disc with pagid pads all in for £200

Cheers all, garage just called to say £153 to replace the caliper, as the piston wasn't doing it's thing, the pads and disks looked in good condition overall (probably didn't check tolerances) so they've just suggested doing the caliper. Seems OK to me - £68 for the part and the rest labour. Let's hope this works and doesn't occur again once the brakes get hot, which I'm presuming would then mean a replacement of the discs/rotors. Cheers all.
