Steering wheel re-trimming

Guys What do you think of this! I absolutely love it.

Leather and design totally custom - finish almost factory - courtesy of Royal Steering Wheels

Jack did a great job with my steering wheel and is a vast improvement on the standard steering wheels on the E85... Now all that needs doing is fitting with the paddles and project should be complete

Looks good mate.The se wheels are a bit basic and let the car down I think.I'm sure it wouldn't have hurt BMW that much to put a decent wheel on in the first place.I have an se and I think my wheel is pants :lol:
 
I'll post pics of my one when it comes back today....then go to decide whether to keep the used M sport one on it or have the original one fitted
 
Looks like an excellent finish. Does it add much thickness to the std finish?

yes it did, that was the whole point of doing it, as the SE steering wheel is too thin, slipped through my hands few times.... He took off the original leather and the thickness now is just right and padding nice and soft.

Maniac, I took the M Sport one off today and had Jack put the original one back on, retrimmed nd slightly thicker....it's like a new wheel. The M sport one I had, had a few nicks on it, and therefore I decided the original one, re leathered was the better option.....
 
Stark - this is the post I was talking to you about yesterday.

I am interested in changing mine but would prefer the 'thicker' and 'suede' option.

Pictures of your newly fitted wheel would be good.
 
Reevsie I'll post some up tomorrow....my car now has the original wheel, and also the guy has a steering wheel in stock like ours, so all he will do is trim it in alcantara for you or leather etc, then take off the audio controls, metal trim etc and then swap them onto yours, job done. £105 including fitting is a grea price.

BMW factory finish is always impossible to achieve, but Jack's work is close if not as good as. You cannot really tell that it has been re-trimmed...

Overall excellent work in my view.
