steering pulling to left and right

Bought a 2.0 sport the other month and it's fine apart from the steering. At speed, it pulls the the left and then to the right. Does' t do it violently, it's as if the tracking is out but it pulls to the left and right. Any suggestions?

Tyres would be my first thought. Have you still got run flats on?
However check the following:

Tyre pressures - details on the inside of the drivers door
Tread depth - worn run flats can cause tram-lining
Run flats - would change to non RFTs if possible it will improve the the driving experience
Always worth getting the tracking done on a new purchase better to do a Hunter Alignment if facilities near to you

Wish bone bushes worn will cause acceleration and deceleration track changes.

If it pulls left on accel and right on decel or vice versa then it's almost certainly worn bushes.

:)

Sounds like rear lower wishbone bushes are worn. If you jack the car up and try to move the front wheel forwards and backwards it will show nay wear on the bushes.

Alternatively get someone to watch the wheels as you apply the brake at slow speed. Another check is to accelerate slowly whilst allowing the steering wheel to move if it is the bushes it will shift a fixed amount the when you apply the brake it will shift back the other way.

I replaced my rear wishbone bushes and runflats to non runflats and what a difference it made. It didn't however completely get rid of the tramlining, it still exists very slightly, not sure if this is the same for anyone else? I was kind of thinking that I may have some very slight play in the steering rack, but tbh its that minor im not going to bother replacing the rack.

I tell you what improved the car massively in terms of steering responsiveness and precision, was I changed the front antiroll bar and used powerflex black bushes. Might be a worthwhile mod.

Def sounds like wishbones need replacing. Urgent job coz leave it to long and will have to replace front tyres aswell. :)

You won't have to replace just the front tires, you will end up replacing the full front end, the stability of the car is that bad with run flats. :)
