..?Steering pull, normal?..

... I noticed that when riding on uneven pavement, the steering gets affected and pulls into the grooves of the road.
Is this normal on a Z4? I have stock run-flat tires, maybe thats the cause? I feel I have less control when the steering falls wherever there
are dips on the road.

Happy Holidays!

Do a search for "tramline" or RFTs. It's well documented. The run-flats are very stiff in the sidewall and tend to follow any irregularity in the road. Couple this with the very responsive steering and you get that "pull". Non run-flats help a bit, but to be honest, it won't cure it. I had a 325Ci that would tramline and it had "standard" high-performance tires on it.

Drive the car a bit and you'll get used to it and more confident in the handling.

Now, before the others chime in, :worthless:

I have been drining my mums fiesta over the hols and have been surprised how little feedback I find now Im used to the z handling- A first the z seems very unsure and tramlining but you will get used to it then u will love it!

my zed must be an anomaly then, cos it doesn't tramline at all on the Michelin run flats :?

Thank you for great advice, I thought this was abnormal. The steering is very responsive, and I am getting used to it… Enjoy, it’s an awesome car!!

Your roads must be better than mine! :poke:

Actually, it only tramlined on the most rutted road, but it would definitely keep you on your toes-this was with sport package and 17" wheels.
