STEERING/PINKING

HI
MY Z4 STEERING IS FINE BELOW 40MPH BUT AS SOON AS I GO OVER THIS SPEED THE STEERING BECOMES STIFF AND I FIND I AM CONSTANTLY HAVING TO CORRECT THE STEERING OR THE CAR WOULD VEAR OFF LINE.

IF I LET GO OF THE WHEEL IT STAYS IN THE SAME POSITION AND WILL NOT CENTRALISE.(ABOVE 40MPH)

IS THIS NORMAL OR CAN THE STEERING BE ADJUSTED?

ALSO I HAVE NOTICED A SLIGHT PINKING IF I ACCELERATE FROM LOW REVS IN 3RD GEAR.(I HAVE TRIED A HIGH OCTAIN FUEL WITH NO RESULT )
CAN THE TIMING BE ADJUSTED AND IF SO HOW?

THANKS TIM SCOTT

Cursed sticky shift keys....

Anyways, not sure if you are having a problem with steering or not. Are your tires properly inflated? The car does have a problem with tramlining so if the road is uneven or bumpy the car will track in that direction especially with the original runflat tires.

I have no idea about your pinking....is your car an automatic or stick? Is your oil lvl good?

What year is your car?

PERFORMANCE: Been there, done that! Check out my thread for advice and my own personal experience. This has nothing to do with under/over inflated tires. This is true STICKING. Like, you think you're going to die in a slow turn because your damn wheel wont give  ! enfield, help me out here, how do I link my 'sticky steering' thread? fire-n-ice = computer dummy
