Steering noise when still?

So cars running and I'm stationary, when I turn the wheel say from lock to lock, I hear a slight whine like noise. I only notice it when the vehicle is stopped, it almost reminds me of a power steering pump noise going bad, but no where's near as loud or bad sounding. Then of course, I don't think we have a power steering pump.
I haven't noticed anything bad associated with it, just was wondering if I need to be vaguely concerned.
 
Sounds like the the EPS (Electric Power Steering) motor which only operates when you turn the wheel - you will probably notice it more when the vehicle is stationary as other noises caused when the car is in motion are minimal if not eliminated (engine noise, whhel noise etc).
