Steering Issues ?

i seem to be experiencing slight issues with my steering. When driving in a straight line I seem to notice a bit of play in the steering wheel. I thought nothing of it as I constantly drive round paranoid listening out for new rattles, squeaks etc.

This week it feels far less direct and responsive as it used to. I have checked the tyre pressures again this evening and all is ok?. Although its one of those things that difficult to explain and I am sure that I have no doubt run over a few uneven surfaces and pot holes as everybody else does on a day to day basis but does anybody have any ideas?

On a more positive note i followed a Lambo Murcielago LP-640 for my entire 6 mile commute home in the sunshine, totally made my day, the noise, the width and watching peoples expressions as it passed was amazing. I have commented on here numerous times how much of a lambo fan i am and today just confirmed it, just gives me the 'tingle' that ferraris never have.

Hi easty027, I had a similar problem last year with your symptoms and it was due to a worn ball joint that needed replacing.

Yeah as viper said, its worth checking all ball joints and bushings on the front suspension, theyre all very liable to 'go' after about 50k - i can feel my Front wishbone rear bushes have just about had it. You can get them for <£40 and will only take 45 mins to fit yourself (just make sure you buy ones complete with the alloy 'lollipop' holders) :)
