Steering cation light is on and power steering is not working!

2004 Z4 2.5L Steering dash light is on and power steering stopped working. On two occasions the light went out and steering restored. Anyone have knowledge on this issue and a possible solution? Thank you.

Yes the ecu on the power steering motor is dying. You need to remove the motor and get the ecu repaired by ECU Testing

I am in the Houston Texas area. I’m finding used ones still on the steering column. Not to sure about replacing it with a used part that has a known tendency to go bad.

I would remove your motor and send it to ECU Testing in the UK. Comes back with a lifetime warranty.
Before you laugh, others in the US have done exactly that and been happy with the service.

I will check into sending it to them. I found them online but now need a reply back from them as to if they will accept my ECU and mail it back to the States. Good to hear others from the US have done this!
