Starter motor surprise - missing connection!?

My friends,

My starter appeared to have given up the ghost. It was slow, then it was no more - battery is new.
Cool. There I am, replacing it. HOWEVER, look at this picture.

There is a missing nut on one of the starter terminals (left side, under the number 30). I never touched this thing, so what's up with that!? Don't the starter need two wires other than +12 and GND to crank? I am concerned that putting the new starter without the misteriously missing wire will not work.

Thoughts please?

From memory that terminal isn’t used- should be the two HV and one LV cables as you have just reconnect as it looks

Awesome.

I got the new one in there. Now I want to disable the fuel pump and crank it, see if it turns before I put it all back together.
Which one is the fuel pump relay?

YEP, you're right! It CRANKS very happy now with the new starter.
I pulled fuses 19, 33 and pulled the DME relay - all to make sure the pump doesn't run. Did a crank test without the intake manifold, just to confirm it actually worked. Back on putting everything back together now.
