Starter motor brands

I need a new starter motor, mine's just left me stranded! Looking on Autodoc(anyone got a code?) and not sure which one to go for. I was thinking Bosch or Denso, both similar price around £160, but the Denso is 1,3 kW, where as the Bosch is 1,1kW.

Yes I bought an RTX from recommendations on here almost 4 years ago from Euro Car Parts for £69.52, and still working. The car has been used almost everyday since and has done almost 24,500 miles on it.

No but RTX are good.

Never looked at the brand, just taken my knackered unit into our local refurb shop, handed it over, popped the recon unit into whatever car needed it and never had a failure. Don't over think it.

Yeah, I'm learning towards the Bilstein, it's not like the car does loads of miles.

Put an RTX Starter on my 2.5 Z4 sourced from Euro Car Parts been on there for 3 years and still ok although I sold the car and got another one.

When I stick my reg into Euro Car Parts, the only options I get are Lucas, Era, Starline and Bosch, no RTX.

Fair enough. I bought one for my 2.2i last month from them. Maybe they are out of stock?

I fitted a Starline one a couple of years ago - easy fit and working a treat - I think it was about £70 then.

Maybe, or it might be different on an e86. I think I'll get a cheaper one and see how it goes.

Ah right. You hadn't said what model you had. N52 may well be different.
