Standard ride height

I've read on here that all the 3.0 models are 15mm lower than the other models.

Is this definately true?

The reason i ask is a local BMW specialist told me it's not true. According to him the Si Sport was the only 3.0 to be lower from the factory, and mine (being an SE) was the same ride height as the smaller engines. Unfortunately I don't know anyone with a Sport model to compare measurements with.
 
Does no one know?

I'm still waiting for my new suspension to turn up as there was a "problem with my order", and I'm wondering how much of a drop I will get from it.

Thanks for that, it would appear that what I was told is correct then; from the face lift model the sports springs are only fitted as standard to the Si Sport and the ///M, but not the Se.

Good news as I was hoping for around a 30mm drop. I'll do some measurements before and after, then again in a month when it's all settled in just so as others can benefit from my findings.
 
Yep keep us posted I'd be interested in the before and after pics. I'm still not sure what to do with mine, I think it sits a little high on it's wheels.

This is really just confirming what you guys have found already...

Pre-facelift, all 3.0 models were 15mm lower. However, just checked Wondermike's link for the specs and the facelift model seem to differ.

Here shows the Si SE and Si Sport models...

Only the Sport models list M-Sport suspension, which is 15mm below standard height. Eibach's will drop 30mm from standard, which is almost too low for my liking - not for the ride height, but the curve of the wheel arch against the wheel. I am looking at some Supersport springs, which should give a 20mm drop on standard, more to my taste. That or coilovers, but that's a lot more money.

That's with the 15mm drop sport suspension? It looks really high... Get an angle grinder out and cut your springs, lol.
 
Yep I've just checked my paperwork from BMW and the spec sheet for my car when ordered it states " M Sport Suspension".

I'm still unsure about what exact drop I'd get and is why I haven't done anything yet. Although I think mine sits a bit high I like the line of it so I would want an even drop, I certainly wouldn't want the rear dropped more than the front. If anything the front a fraction more than the back. :?
