Standard HiFi - Tweeter Upgrade.

Thanks for that, was going to upgrade the main speakers, to improve sensitivity, as this seems the only way to produce a higher volume without replacing the head unit or adding an amp.

Now I know how to remove the door furniture I might try this.....my first mod :)

I have the tweeters ready to go in too (thanks to Maniac for guidance). Take a took on ebay.de, you can pick up the centre rear speaker to go between the seats too for a fraction of the BMW price. i've just order one on ebay.

The grill that fits on the reat bulkhead (that you can buy at BMW) has a tweeter already attached when you buy the grill part. Hopefully therefore it's just a matter of putting in the door tweeters, wire up the rear speaker and put the rear tweeter in too. That should give a better sound , though frankly I think my original set up is fine. - just bored and looking for mods I guess.

My LEDs for the door handles also arrived from BMW so I will fit these when the door casings are off. I will post a how-to when done.

Good hunting on ebay.de.

I'll be interested to know what you think once the tweeters are in. Personally I think it's a little too thin sounding now and I note the mid drivers that match the tweeters (pro hifi) have a different part number to the stock hifi mid range drivers and I'm wondering if they might better match the tweeters sound as a whole, perhaps a mid driver upgrade is also required to get the best from it...
