Stag or Jag?

Most things that you will have to do in the Jag will be expensive the Stag not so.
That is leaning me toward the Triumph TBH. Parts are well supported with the likes of Rimmer Bros, whereas I can only find JLR supplying Jag bits at a massive premium.

[ref]Hilly30si[/ref], I’ve never warmed to the Stag, but the TR6 is just lush and IMO worth the extra over the stag. Then there’s the TR5

For a weekend toy I'd prefer the Stag as it is much better looking IMHO.

I got reminded just how good they look when I saw a couple on Sunday morning - photos on here courtesy of Rob! https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=139612

And they sound lovely too, but I'd have to have one with the Triumph V8 for originality if nothing else.

Go for the Stag. Much better looking. More fun and my neighbour has one, that I love listening to when he fires her up.

Neighbour had a V8 Stag back in the 70s, think he was a bank manager 🙂 he was forever popping round when it broke down and my dad would end up laying underneath it getting his hands oily whilst the neighbour stood there smoking his pipe.

He would always get it out the garage on frosty mornings and leave it idling and he'd go back in the house whilst it warned up. It was an Automatic and one morning whilst it sat there V8 rumbling the gear selector slipped into drive, don't know how it did that, and it shot across the road, knocked a tree down and embedded itself into the front bedroom of an elderly couples bungalow, they were still in bed 🫣 car was towed away and never saw it after that.

My dad always had an XJ6 as he was an advanced police driving instructor, they were white with red leather and would get picked up after school in it. Before the XJ6s they had the MK2s, pic where my dad was stationed the day they took delivery in 1965.
