SSC fakers?

Mostly Holland. Sometimes UK.
So it looks like all the top speed TopTrump fanboys are up in arms about the potentially fake claim by SSC that their car actually topped 331mph, as was indcated by my youtube suggested feed this morning.
My initial thought was ‘who really gives 2 sh!ts anyway?’
It looks like that babyfaced, squeaky-voiced, red pants-wearing twod Shmee150 did the maths and a few of my favourite channels are re-squeaking his data.
I prefer Rob Spaghetti’s no-nonsense staight-talking take on the whole debacle.

For SSC, at best it’s just hooky data and they should do a verified run.
At worst they’ve been caught out on a lie.
In any case I understand there has to be a cutoff point for ROI. I know that from doing years of NPD/NPI projects. What is it 10 years this thing’s been in development now? Bonkers. I think the Veyron took less?
They’re in this to sell cars at the end of the day obviously and they probably have financial backers, stakeholders and buyers putting them under increasing pressure to get the production run going but if you have to fake the figures, do it convincingly or don’t do it at all!

God, that is sad.

I was amazed when they smashed it by that kind of number but this really is a lame s**t-show by Shelby. The numbers certainly seem to suggest they've claimed the impossible (for this car) and have put out a proper fishy video.

What a shame.

I watched shmee video and I’m not convinced by his maths he doesn’t seem to take into account and acceleration. Tbf I was tired and it was late

Bottom line is ssc need to do it again and stick two fingers up to everyone. With less of the BS camera stuff and more clear telemetry

SSC have replied and owned up to making mistakes in the editing suite.

It seems they didn’t realise they had as many clips as they did and the wrong internals were overlaid with the wrong/right data.

Will be getting the company who did the video/data logging to sort it all out and re-release it.

They should have got VAG to do the figures, they never put out misspeaking data. :| A sorry state of affairs. Difficult to believe that no one from SSC saw that video prior to release and didn't spot such obvious errors. At best some one at SSC doesn't know their own product to allow the release.

So, the back-pedalling begins;

He’s also invited shmee, micha and that other upstart to go and personally verify the next run. Good call by Jared I think - get the antagonists who’ve dicked all over the project there in person to eat humble pie in person hopefully
Well, I hope they get it right this time, if only to rub that twod shmee’s nose in it if it can actually do 331mph. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Jesus I lost the will to live with that. Is he going to go and watch A simple yeah cool I’ll come thanks for asking would’ve done
