squeeling noise from front offside wheel

While driving down to Chichester on Saturday I notices a strange squeeling noise which I determined was the front offside wheel. Couldn't see anything obvious wrong but did notice a fair bit of heat radiating from it. Anyway on the way home later that day I heard it again and decided to get it checked out by my breakdown service as I was concerned it could be a wheel bearing. They couldn't see anything wrong and didn't detect excessive wera so i just carried on with my journey.

It hasn't made the noise again since them but then I haven't been on any long journeys since and am unsure what it could be, maybe breakes getting seized?

If the brake continues to get hot it sounds like the brake caliper is sticking causing the brake pads to bind on one side. How old are the brake pads? May be worth getting them changed if they are getting worn.
