squeeky wiper driving me crazy

The wiper on the driver side has developed an annoying squeek which occurs every time it returns from the fully extended position. I would have thought it would squeek (if at all) when the spring is stretching rather than retracting. I have WD40'd the spring, took it off and refitted it and still it squeeks. Any idea's before I go out of my head and launch into a road rage style incident?

could be the wiper motor linkage to the arms, I have had mne replaced due to squeak from drivers side, also just had the arm replaced though (drivers) as similar/same squeak returned so look at the pivot joint on the arm as well.

I have the same issue. I've been advised that this problem is not possible to correct. YOu'll need to purchase a new viechle.

new vehicle?! lol

follow the steps to remove the wiper tray cover (in my wiper motor fix howto, linked in my sig).
Once you get the cover off, apply some grease to the arms and pivots attached to the wiper motor.

I did this for a passenger-side squeek, and it's not done it since.

Have you been using any lubricant? WD40 is great as a releasing agent but ultimate I believe it will dry out anything that it's applied to (here's why I found out this is a myth)... lube up!
EDIT: Damn client called... SK93 beat me to it.

Otherwise, yes, buy yourself an M!

Ive had this on the old and latest zed
On the old one, $tealers replaced the arm under warranty
on the new one the squeek actually come from the joint where the wiper blade connects to the arm - bizzare.
I know knew this when a mate lifted the arm up and said to switch the wiper on - didnt get a squeek.
place it back down on the window - squeek

try it!

i had ait and fixed it.

its the joint closest to the motor attachment (for moving during change/wash etc) on mine, i just squirt some silicone spray on it every now and again and it goes away
