Squeaky roof - any ideas

The colder weather is here, so more top up driving to be done.

As its got colder the roof seals where it splits and the header rail have started squeaking, especially driving over the rough terrain that passes for roads in Britain .

Anybody tried anything to stop this, was thinking of silicon grease or similar

Somebody else on the forum may come back with a more official answer - but with my old Honda S2000 I had a tube of silicone grease supplied and it was part of the routine to apply it to the rubberised areas where roof and body met. I enjoyed 'squeak-free' driving!

Its been discussed on here a lot. what you need is Gummi Pfledge which is basically German for rubber treatment, BMW do it in a spray specially for the job ( BMW part No 83 12 0 301 480 )

That's what I use, my roof is quiet. Spray some of the stuff on a foam pad and apply it to the seals.
 
I've had customers tell me that a shot of hair spray stops those squeaks. Sounds link an urban legend to me, but still worth trying...
