squeaky cup holder fix?

The driver’s side (passenger’s side to a lesser extent) is squeaky/rattles when pushed in (not in use) and I’m driving. Anyone have a solution before I try my hand at solving it?


Car is a 2003 E85 Z4

Yep. Got my z4 last week and the coup holders squeaked like mad and was doing me in!
Took them out, easy with two screws (only a likle bit fidley to get cover off one screw) and found that the outer part was squeaking against the inside part.....just took a tube of glue and dabbed many points where the two meet and job was done.
No squeaks from here now....just the other 50 to sort in the car!

I did the same thing to mine (used black RTV rather than glue). Solved the problem. I also replace the "cup holder" with the "cup holder delete" cover panels since I never used the cup holder anyways (on less thing to squeak or break)
