Spraying Metallic Paint

Some while ago one of my headlamp washer covers decided to strike out on its own for a new life away from me and the Zed.

I got a new cover off eBay which needed painting. I have primed it and then sprayed with a rattle tin of Black Sapphire (because that's the colour of my car ) I have probably done 5 to 6 really thin coats and the coverage and finish looks OK.

However, the finish is not shiny, more a kind of satin sheen. Does the lacquer add the shine?

If you're spraying really thin it's probably dry and not flowing. You need it thick enough to flow and allow the flake and paint to settle.
Once done then lacquer it
