Sport VS SE?

Hi folks,

I'm going to look at a car at the weekend (2007 Z4 Coupe) and assuming it's as advertised, will be bringing it home the same day. Therefore I arranged for my insurance to be switched on the Saturday, as the current keeper's insurance expires on Saturday, so my existing cover wouldn't have covered me, as the car would've technically been uninsured.

Anyway, the car is being sold as a 3.0 Si Sport, but when I gave the reg to the insurance company they said it came back as a 3.0 Si SE...

Is this a frequently made mistake with the Z4s that I needn't worry about?

And what are the (visible) differences between the two? From the photos it appears to have the sport seats, as they have larger side bolsters, and it has the M-sport MFSW in black and apparently sports suspension (although I'm not sure how to tell the difference in suspension visually...?).

Anything else I can use to check?
 
The steering wheel, seats and suspension - yes.

Another obvious one - I think the sport has MV2 wheels - which are twin spoked. Should be able to tell that from photos, although easily changed.

Great, thanks. No , it doesn't have the MV2 wheels, it has the 5 spoke 108 wheels... I assume these would've been an option at the time of original purchase though...
 
just to add something to the mix, can you buy a SE that has had sport spec stuff added?

mine was advertised as an SE with m sprt suspension but i assumed it was a load of old cock so assumed it was just an SE. i like the ride and think its hard enough so dont really care one way or the other but would be interested to know if its had anyhitng changed (its a 2004 car)
 
The big difference is the seats, the M Sport ones are very comfortable and supportive, another obvious differences is the door sill plates. Good luck

What's different about the sill plates? Also, the seats have large side bolsters, but no M logo on them, but I thought the M logo was only on the Z4M? Is that right?
 
Headlining would be a likely give away on a non Sport models be default are not anthracite and not likely to be specified as an option.
 
Well the headliner is dark coloured, it appears to have sport seats (large side bolsters) and it has door sill plates with "BMW" written on them...

Sound like a sport? Or was something else supposed to be written on the door sill plates?
 
door sill plates all say BMW unless it's an ///M

Best bet would be to get the last 7 digits of the chassis number (like LD39114) and get a dealer to confirm.
