Sport button on 2.5

Background: I discovered on the Z3 ///M rodaster with S54 motor is possible to add the Sport button similar to the E46 ///M3. Basically the ECU already has the accellerator maps in it, it's just a matter of adding a switch to move from one map to the other.

Quesiton: is something like that possible for the 2.5? Does anyone knows if the ECU in the 2.5 has the same 2 maps for steering & accelerator as the 3.0 or not? Was the sport button ever avaialbe in the 2.5? Has anyone done any reaserch on adding such option?

Yes it is. It has been done over on one of the other boards. I will have to look for the link. It was done last month...

Yep, I've found that after posting. I'll remove the shift booth tonight and see if the wire is there... How exciting!!! ehehehe!!!

Why not just switch to Sport permanently? I hate all these adjustable options... (thank god I've not got an M5!).

I agree Tref, I have a sport button in the si and if it wasn't for the mpg dropping when it is pressed - I'd drive with it on all the time!
