Speeding Ticket

As above 88mph on an empty M74, was a bit of rain...they where pulled up on a on ramp and came up behind me and blue lighted me. My question is...they gave me a fixed pen 3 points and £100. Im at work on an oil rig and wont be able to mail my license within the 28 days...what are my options?

I'd call them and explain. If you do nothing you're liable for whatever comes your way.

Il give it a go. I can pay over the phone but cant get my docs to them.........

+1 to what Stuart Truman said. Let them know and ask for written confirmation that you've let them know there is a delay and that acknowledge this i.e. email or letter.

if this year as we are led to believe tax discs will be disappearing as the info is held on computer - I am sure they can check if you have a licence or valid insurance ....why do we still have to present docs in this day and age - that said - I have never had a ticket (in the UK)

I thought that, but is it to do with the points...i.e. send in current licence and get a new one with the points listed?
