Has anybody used them for Vari Focals?

I used them last year for my Vari-Focal sunglasses and it took them three attempts.
This year I needed some plain Vari-Focals, they've tried twice and now it's money back time.

Have I been unlucky ?????

I've just had frames reglazed with www.ciliaryblue.com - quality seems good, it was cheep and pretty fast really. There are lots of sites like it out there, but I couldn't say if others were better or worse. I just wanted cheap lenses in old frames as a backup pair and they seem decent to me.

Nope. They screwed up my first prescription and after multiple return visits they finally retested and realised they'd got it wrong.

Oh, and the first pair I had done by them had the manufacturers so called "invisible" lens mark right in my eyeline

My eye test last year they recorded 3.75 on the prescription of my left eye - It was infact 2.75 on a re test!

I wouldn't have complained quite so much had I not told them when I collected the sunglasses that they were wrong. It was only when I got to my holiday abroad did I realise just how wrong they were!

Had a pair of glasses, vari focals, for the first time 3 years ago from Specsavers. Would never use them again. OK so they're cheap, over 60's discount etc., but I reckon it's a case of you get what you pay for. Just had an eye test and awaiting new rimless Silhoutte varifocals from small local in dependant that has been trading for 50 years.
Specsavers are a franchised operation so I suspect this is the reason quality and service is variable.

Used them the past few years as I get free eye tests through work and it's been mixed. Last eye test and glasses were done ok but previous pair of rimless glasses they mismatched the frame holes on each lens and so the glasses Sat on the face slanted, they managed to do it twice.

They should have gone to Specsavers.

This all sounds familiar to me! Wonky frames, wrong optical centre and bending the frames to suit!
They told me that it rarely happens!

Very similar experience with Specsavers just last month. The first optician who tested me got it completely wrong, I had to have a retest and a new prescription.

I've found their eye examinations OK its just when it comes to sorting the glasses out they cock it up so I may go somewhere else in future.

So I'm not alone?

I went to an independent today, it cost me an extra £50 but I'm confident from previous dealings with him, I will get a pair that work!
