Spark Plug/ignition coil Selection

Hello,

I'm looking at changing out my spark plugs and ignition coils on my '06 3.0si (built March '06). In my hunt for suitable parts, I found that a lot of the available components are listed as being applicable only to 06 3.0si models built in April '06 or later (Example: https://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/472764/Ignition-Coil-Kit-3084403KIT/). Was there some change in the N52 between March and April that would make buying something like the example above unwise? And if so, any recommendations?

I think they changed the electrical connector design for the coils.

Yes they did. BMW switched from BOSCH to Delphi and in doing so changed the connection that will accommodate both. They are around £3 each from the dealer and easy to fit. The Delphi coils are meant to be more reliable

Delphi's are the OEM coils i think, as mentioned above

I put NGK high performance spark plugs in mine when I changed them 10K miles ago and not had any problems. Again, I think NGK are OEM
