spare key

So I would like to get a spare key, has anybody got a key without paying the astronomical costs from BMW. £300 I was quoted last week, I know that it needs to be coded and have the immobilizer.

What for E85/6 or E89

Possible to get it done for £30 or less if you buy the blank ans can get it cut. Programming equipment can be got for under £20, blanks for a tenner. I even got my blanks cut for free, just put a donation in the charity box.

£300 dealer price thats a bit over the top i bought mine for around £150.
The guy came to my car and coded it in 10 seconds put key in ignition turned it on to show all lights on not start then after 5 seconds pressed the unlock button then the lock button 3 times that was it programmed. It must have been for 2 keys that price Or gold plated as bmw are normal the same price around the country.

If those 2 options aren't anywhere near you, there is also The Zed Shed in Cheshire run by Mike who used to be on here a lot but now seems to use Facebook more. He can supply a blank and cut and code it - just search for The Zed Shed NW.

Takes a bit more than that to code the immobiliser, what you describe is just for locking/unlocking the car.
