Spare ignition key repaired.

My spare key has never worked remotely and I assumed battery was dead.Following the "How to" on You Tube I cut the key open and replaced the rechargeable battery to no avail.A test of the printed circuit board found it was the problem.
A search on Google found the Automobile Locksmith Limited who do a key repair for £28 and return within 24hrs of receipt.
I sent it recorded delivery Wed. lunchtime and had an e-mail Thursday afternoon saying it was on its way back Royal Mail signed for.Sure enough Friday morning key arrived and all functions are perfect,door, boot and GapTech.
If any one else is unlucky enough to have a problem with their keys I would recommend this company.

That's not bad money at all really.

Thankfully, both my keys are ok, for now!!

The problem I have with the spare key is......the wife lost it!!!......I always give her the spare to put in her handbag if we're away from home,long journey,etc
Had to bite the bullet and order a replacement from dealer....£168....happily my insurance has key cover so they're covering the expense with no excess.
