sparco r333 seats?

hey guys,

Been a while! I've been toying with changing in the M for something from camp porsche for a while now, or an e92, but every time I drive the Z I fall in love again, so have bitten the bullet and started to spoil her :) Supercharging is happenning again at the end of the month :D have sourced some anthracite CSL reps that I'll put on the weekend, bit of plastidip to the front bumper and grille ( have ordered a carbon grille but am hella impatient!) and a few other pretty bits. would love some carbon mirror covers if they pop up.

Very tempted to pick up some of these that a frined has going cheap! I want a pair of BMW performance seats - I came SO close to ordering them but I just couldn't justify 5k + on seats..

but some r333's have come up for a bargain price. plus I know where to get hold of some rails :D

I just wondered if they'd actually fit in the snug cabin? I don't sit all the way back, but don't want to be too restricted? I figure the width if anything will be the problem.. THey're the closest seats I can find to the BMW performance and I figure I can get them re-skinned in leather/alcantara and be quids in. Alcantara, with the silver harness slots and stitched ///M logo would be the dream if I could find someone capable,

anyone have any advise on how well I can get a fit, and if they're too wide etc a suitable seat?

cheers :)

noooooo jaw they look so cheap!!! please dont put these in your z4!!! thy also look like they wont fit anyway, we need narrow units....

Bah back to the drawing board! just for the record was the disliking due to the material and writing? In my head I think they might have done up well in alcantara and less two toney? Times like this, I wish I was better at photoshop!

The pole positions are nice indeedy but ever so slightly too inconspicuous, but I've all but given up on being able to find any - australia hates the car!

Always good to get opinions though  Times like this, I wish I was better at photoshop! I think I'm slightly blinded by the fact that they are as good as free

Hmm as soon as I posted this, I find some  any more suggestions that we know fit would be welcome though :)

Hey Jaw, where abouts are you located, I ask as i am also looking at going down the s/c route and would be awesome to see it on another zed.

The Recaro Sportster CS are the closest you'll get to the BMW Performance seat - but are 'only' £1000 each (non-airbag version) or £1,300 each (side airbag version). You've still got to factor in the cost of mounts/rails/custom finish/etc.

I'm still favouring the Pole Position ABE though, as it has they added benefit of keeping your hips locked in place.

Thanks for that, that's much more the look that I'm going for, slightly oem looking but functional too and the price us much more "friendly". Have sourced some rails which *should* fit I'm told.

I do like 5he pp but on a convertible the seats make up part of the exterior and just don't look auite right imo.

Hey mate Im in Perth. If you're anywhere nearby when it's done, more than happy for you to have a look :)

Thanks Jaw, I would gladly take up the offer if only I weren't on the other side of the country, but good to know there will be 2 s/c zeds in Aus on this forum :D What kit are you going with and are you planning on doing a build thread because that would be awesome

Deffo will be a build thread, I'm going for an ESS kit :driving:

Ultimately I want to be aiming towards 500bhp but we'll see what limitations we bump into along the way

Ahh cool cool, I work in Brissie so who knows, if I do move over might not be so far :)

Awesome, I'm also leaning more towards ess, I currently only have a 2.5 but selling soon to buy 3.0 and then ess kit, coilovers and a few other bits. I'm on the sunshine coast, so not far from Brissie. Looking forward to the build.
