Spacer with metal tax disc holder

Anyone know what to do with this spacer i.e. where to put it and is it required on the Zed windscreen?

Anyone know what to do with this spacer i.e. where to put it and is it required on the Zed windscreen?

I played about with positioning without the pads, then put it between 2 of the sticky pads on the top of mine, then 2 sticky pads on each of the two lower fixing points - seems to be sufficient to cope with the curve of the windscreen. Sticks out a bit, but it will. I'd post pics, but it's dark out, sorry ! If I remember I'll take a couple tomorrow.

Don't forget to thoroughly remove any greasy residue from your windscreen, or you might get a lump of metal flying into your face on a fast left-hand corner.
