space saver wheel

I think a few people on here have bought the one from an E46 3 series, someone will be along to confirm that

I don't think there was ever a specific one for the Z4 (not that I've seen anyway!).

As Red says, people go for the E46 spare, 17" or 16" - depending on your brake sizes.

I got a 17" e46 space saver from a scrappers. My 3.0si needed a minimum 17" for enough brake caliper clearance. BMW never made a specific space saver for the Z4...

eBay is your friend - search E46 spare. One there now at £17 with 24 hours to go.

I have the 17" to clear larger calipers.

If you post you vehicle details in the signature we can advise which is the smallest to fit.

Have I missed something here? Is there actually a specific space for a spare in a roadster? Other than just rolling around in the boot...

Of course not, hence the Zed is equipped with RFT's. However those who fit non RFT's need either gunk (and a compressor) or a spare. I for one keep a spare in the garage and sometimes in the car on longer runs, such that if a flat should happen I can at least cruise for a day or so until I buy or repair the tyre at sensible not rip off emergency prices.

Good thinking about keeping a spare in the garage. Are space saver spares easy enough to get hold of for the Z4? I'm still having therapy after the ordeal that I went through trying to get one for my E60.... :headbang:

I had no problems getting one. Just go for an E46. 16" will do unless you have a model with the larger front calipers, then you'll need the rarer 17" (as I did)
