There have been a few posts re spacesavers regarding suitability, make, costs etc. I purchased one some time back but as yet not used it in anger. In fact I have never even tried it on the Z4. With a trip to some friends outside Bordeaux planned in 3 weeks time thought I better make sure it fits.

So as pics show no problem, it was supplied by Hero who also supplied the jack which has the fitting to suit the jackpoints. Hopefully I wont need it but at IMG_3209.JPGleast I now know it fits.

Interested in this, with a similar trip planned. How much boot space are you left with? Could you share a picture of it stowed away?

I would say it guarantees no punctures but as we've found out a few times really really useful as in our experience (10 years 100,000s of collective zed miles) most punctures can't be fixed with gunk or tails!

If you are worried about boot space bear in mind that your punctured wheel and tyre will use up far more space than the spare does.

A very good point! 😂

Although I’d only be relocating luggage to the passenger footwell for a journey to the nearest tyre shop….vice loosing boot space for the whole trip. Not a hard choice in my mind

That's much better looking than the standard steel ones.

I just carry a full size wheel in the boot to hopefully avoid needing to interrupt a trip looking for a tyre shop. Although it takes up most of the boot in an M. :(

So Pics with the wheel in boot. There is room for a/some soft bags still allowing for the roof to be down and stored in the boot, with the roof up then there is a reasonable capacity for luggage. Of course if a wheel change is required then its probably roof up to the nearest tyre centre.

These pics are from a E89 not sure what the situation would in a E85/6
