Sound system advice...

My E85M was largely spec'd as a superleggera variant many moons ago, one thing I would really like to enhance are the speakers (I have the base spec speakers), whilst I love the noise the car makes, on a long journey sometimes i want to listen to something else! I haven't modified my ICE (when it meant something else) for many years and obviously no parcel shelf free to cut large holes into!

Does anyone have any recommendations as to what might be a good direct replacement just to provide some extra clarity + volume? I would really rather keep the OEM head unit.

Cheers

There are lots of posts regarding e85/86 audio upgrades, one here https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=347739&hilit=audio+upgrade#p347739
or many more here https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=31

Good luck

Simplest and easiest for you would be to put a decent set of speakers in the doors and footwells (the shoulder level ones are a full centre console strip out) and maybe a small amp too if you want a bit more punch.. Vibe make a great little plug and play amp that just requires a new iso loom.. a set of 4 inch speakers in the doors and some decent footwells and you could have a very effective system for around 300 quid though as with all things ICE you could spend a lot more depending on how high quality you want your system.. a thread from my e89 install might help some as it will still be pretty much the same in theory https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=125344&hilit=vibe

Many thanks for these links, definitely gives me some interesting reading and I'm pleased solving the issue doesn't look to be painful.
