Sound Gong keeps pinging

Hi

My sound gong in drivers footwell is making a noise after I turn the ignition off. It is a continuous rapid pinging noise - sort of like the PDC noise but much more rapid. It is fine when ignition is turned to on - and doesn't always start immediately when switched off but eventually it does - you then come back to the car (no keys in- door locked) and you can hear it pinging away. I have unplugged the power to the gong for now.

I assume this is a problem in the speaker and I need a replacement sound gong unit - but thought I'd check first if anyone has had similar issues.
 
So I obtained a new under dash speaker from Ebay for a few pounds. That seemed to do the trick - for a few days at least. Then the noise returned. Oh well. Will unplug the speaker for now. Suspect it must be something related to the parking sensors.
