Sound generator

Hi zedders, I've known about the sound generator snorkel & the pieces of foam within since owning the car but have never been fussed about removing them as I thought it sounded nice as it was.
Well idle hands etc I removed the foam bits earlier today & drove the car into work, never really noticed much difference and was thinking what's all the fuss about?
Until driving home tonight :D hardly any traffic around (unlike my drive going in)& I had the chance to give it some proper mumbo :driving:
Wow, sounds fantastic as the revs soar  it's even better as the extra sound is subdued whilst driving normally.
The foam can stay in smartbears garage for the foreseeable future :P
Regards

Did you remove both or just the bulkhead foam?

Both is a bit lairy above about 5k rpm. Just a loud honking noise.

I've removed both on mine. Sounds like it should.

Quiet on normal cruising then she wails when hammering it.

Matches the exhaust setup for a balanced aural sensation

When I went to remove one of my foam pieces I found it was already missing!

So I removed the other aswell! Sounds great!

Plus your car will be faster,
removing the foam will add lightness.
Win win situation

I'm guessing just removed one bit.

i removed both pieces for the full monty effect, as an added bonus its sucked all the wax from my ears as well!

Just done mine 20 mins ago. Removed the white foam nearest to the bulkhead, noticed that this one is a lot denser that the grey foam on the airbox side. It definitely makes more of an induction sound when the accelerator is pressed down.

Remove both and fit a Simota carbon induction kit. Now that sounds great!!
I still miss my straight through exhaust though even with the above

Thought it was just too loud and disturbing when removed, I put back the foam after a few drives... But I feel like trying again after reading this
