MOT was due last week and tax was due the other day, have been unable to move the bloody thing so have just put her off the road and will probably keep her garaged till the new year, unfortunatly I now have to drive the wifes french handbag :x

On the bright side it will give me the opportunity to do some more bodywork detailing  and get the oil changed going to change the plugs as well, any recomendations on the plugs??

is there much saving if any on insurance, i am thinking of doing the same, should have taxed it 1st but its not moved for over 2 weeks

Just keeping the insurance going as it is pro-rata so would probably end up owing them money.

OEM plugs was the way I was gonna go but just wondered if anyone had any recommendations any better plugs

if its only a saving on tax then i don't think its worth it, i want to have a ride over christmas

I hear ya mate but not doing it as a money saver, just a hassle saver, I tend to think that there will be little opportunity to get a good run out of her over the winter period, so a good opprtunity to do some work on her.

Need to un sorn mine for when I get back.

Just bugging me that I have to pay full months road tax for the last week of December.

As for the spark plugs I asked a while ago and didn't really get a definitive answer.
The OEM BMW ones are a mega long life jobby from what I can make out.
The only other option is Iridium or Platinum tipped ones, but they can a bit pricey and I'm not sure what the benfit if any will be.

So no help at all really :D

How's the job hunt going?

   not good
:(

Hope things pick up for you.

For all the use I've gotten out of my Z4 recently (and how little I'm likely to be able to use it for the next week or so) I'd be as well doing the same. But I can't be bothered SORNing then un-SORNing mine. TBH there's a lot of times where I haven't got access to the wife's car anyway and I'm partanoid taking the campervan some places, so the Z4 will get used.

i sorned mine at the end of november and swapped the insurance to my W reg mondeo all £500 s worth and it turns out it costs the same to insure as a 08 z4 :headbang: still at least it is all wrapped up in the garage now
