Is the handling really improved by the csls? This is one reason I was staying away from 19s however would be interested in how the 19s handle compare to 18s. I always thought the 18s with slightly thicker side walls would be better suited to normal road conditions. Love the look of csls but couldn't deal with them if they make the ride and handling worse, instead I was looking at apex arc 8 in 18.

Well I use 99y xl MSS on my cars as reinforced side walls so don't roll and absord more of the bounce of the road for me
I far prefer the ride of the 19s over the 18s smoother and more fun round corners

FWIW I'd have to say imo CSLs do not improve the handling and certainly have a negative impact on the ride compared to OEM. I had both shod in MPSS. I now run ARC-8s and find the ride better than CSLs even with the extremely stiff sidewalled track rubber I use now. I have chosen to run now a slightly oversized spec on the 18" arc 8s, so 235/40 & 265/35 which I will be sticking (sorry!) to.
For reference the ARC-8s weigh 6.95kg front and 8.5kg rear, roughly a 20kg (of unsprung mass don't forget) over the stock setup.
Same experience here. I think that unless you are pulling mega Gs in the corners, the ride and handling is going to be worse on any 19" rim vs 18" OEM.
Wasn't a lot in it for me - possibly the reduction in unsprung mass goes someway towards compensating. The ride is a little worse, tyre roar might be worse (depending on the type of tyre - was a bit better for me on 19" Vreds vs 18" MPSS) and tramlining is definitely worse. Worth it for the looks though, IMHO, and apparently they are an extremely strong wheel if you ever decide to track them regularly.

I'm the opppsite to you guys then as I far prefer the ride, but I also have lowered H&R and H&R arbs
I find it as sweet as a nut, without any tramlining either?
I find the 224s bouncy with more rubber
I don't like at all, as I used to be a track instructor and I take a different line on corners so as not to brake and the low profile 19s help
