Maybe, just maybe with the launch of the imminent 718 Boxster Spyder (rumoured to have the 4.0l 9,000rpm engine from the GT3), prices will blip downwards and I can snap one up :evil: Yeh, right!

The prices seem to have stabilized. This is pretty much the ideal car basically a GT4 soft top with less complicated suspension. Shame the Spyders roofs are complicated also, cant just put it up its a semi manual.

They were hitting over 100k earlier in 2017. There was a gorgeous grey and extended red leather with the bucket seat option for £102k... at Porsche Center Chester it lasted about a month before it went.

Yeh, probably all the sports car you would ever need. Maybe £80k+ is not so bad afterall then as an investment op, but I think it would be wise to see what the 718 Spyder materialises as first. The 718 will undoubtedly be made out of pure unobtainium though, much like the Cayman GT4 was when launched.

Well if that price is anything to go by its depreciated a fair amount, but they were too expensive anyway especially for an all rounder the roof makes that difficult really.

The 718 has been poorly received by previous owners. Finding well speced 981s are so hard now because nobody wants to trade to a 718. You dont see a huge amount of them. They are great cars but I dont think you can get away from the fact its a 4 pot for 40-70k... just doesnt add up although the performance is fantastic its lost its character.

Will have to see what they do with it... Going NA again would go against everything that the 718 was supposed to achieve. If the case they will be highly sought after indeed!

Indeed. There's no way the rest of the lower 718 range will go back to NA, but then again you would think that sticking the 4l GT3 lump in the 718 Spyder would encroach on the GT cars more than Porsche would dare. It's fairly hard to believe they would do it, but if they did I suspect it would be down-tuned significantly. That still wouldn't change it much on the desirability stakes I bet - it would be an instant winner.
