Soon to be owner with a milage question.

Hello all! I have been trying to decide which roadster I wanted to put in my garage for almost 2 years now. I have decided on a Z4. A gentlemen down the road from me has one for sale at a very good price for this marketplace. However it has 200,00 Kilometers on it!!
Is this to much milage under any circumstance to buy this car? Or in your expert opinons, does it depend on the service history, and care of the car?

You have a different market but I would have thought the very good price is because of the high mileage. All depend on the ownership history - if the guy has had it for many years and lavished care and attention then it might be a good gamble at the right price. BMW engines do have a reputation for managing high mileage with good servicing but what about ancillaries - they too have to be maintained and I could foresee costs associated with that at this mileage. Then it becomes a balance between more cost for lower mileage and higher costs to keep a higher mileage Zed on the road. All depends on the owner and history - and cost of course. Good luck - let us know how you get on. PS Better find out why he's selling. . . .is he an enthusiast?

I personally wouldn't buy one with that mileage even though the engines can do it easily, for me I wouldn't go for one with anything over 50.000 miles on it because if you are patient you will find one with a low mileage :)
